The Goodness Package named "Kodai"!

It’s not in the years that you have experiences, but in those single moments where you live into the moment and dive deep into your soul and make those emotions, feelings resurface which have been trapped inside you. In this fast past of the world, where we are becoming adept at multi-tasking, cutting out friends to focus on our career, becoming robots at following instructions, manipulating nature to meet our desires, sometimes it becomes so important to just lie back and observe. It becomes so important to laugh like an innocent child; to smile like there is no tomorrow; to live like it’s the best day and to mingle among people and experience the true purpose of us being in this world. Words are less to describe that sheer joy, the smile of contentment, the peaceful sleep and those moments of tranquility and serenity.

Rushing ahead in collecting feathers into the bag and trying to complete our journey in college, sometimes we do become tired, we do crave for a day of rest and relaxation. It’s those moments of taking a pause and falling back that we feel despondent and it is that moment when we realize that there is a bigger world around us than running like the mice behind the Piper.

It was a normal Monday, when I got to know about an Industrial Visit to Kodaikanal in the coming weekend from the college. Despondent that I was, though I badly wanted to go and take a break: I did have double-thoughts and all kinds of if’s and buts’ regarding that. I asked my parents and was given permission. My friends persuaded me to take a break and go but the real game was yet to begin. The next day, all gay and happy with a slight nagging in my head I attended my personal “Horror” subject and Lo and Behold! The teacher snatched my happiness as the burglar snatches the keys. The continuous mental torment and the endless protocols that he asked me to follow forced me to cancel my going for the IV for the betterment of all. But, as they say: Even if it is bad, it’s for the good and due to the same teacher’s laziness I was able to go.

A hectic day and a more hectic night: We were merely 19 students and we hardly knew each other. Filled with intense trepidation and anguish and a peeking excitement we boarded the bus at night. Soon, it was a different atmosphere. The stress seemed to subside, the assignments, projects seemed to loosen their grip and it seemed we were freed and inhaling fresh air. Singing songs and playing DumbC, our bus rushed into the night making us the happiest souls on this earth. We drifted between sleep and wakefulness and in no time: it was morning. Those first-hand witnesses of seeing each other sleep in typically weird and funny ways did give a head-start to our day. We reached Kodaikanal at about 11 and after an awesome lunch at no other than the Punjabi Dhaba went off to explore the local sites. We were all mesmerized by the beauty of the place and needless to say: photos were taken now and then. We went towards the star-shaped man-made Kodaikanal Lake and had an awesome time while waiting for boating. The shops, the scenes, the people, the air and the clouds all made us completely forget that only yesterday we were running hither-thither to climb one more step in our academic ladder. It was drizzling and then it was raining and then it was the clouds passing through us and we all started to know each other. When it stopped, I feel good to say that I never thought boating could be that fun. Having travelled quite a number of places, I was personally bored of boating but these people: they gave a whole new meaning to it. We all have heard of tripling in bikes: who among you has heard of tripling in boating? Yes, that was what we did: all the three boats pedaled together giving a feeling of sheer joy and togetherness. We went to Croaker’s Walk thereafter, walking uphill and absorbing a scene of total fog, admiring flowers, trees and local specialties. The diversity of chocolates we tasted that day will easily outnumber the total variety of chocolates we had till then. We held hands and ran downhill and let the air beat our cheeks. Happiness is raw: I experienced that day and it’s the rawness we love not the coating. My friends went cycling and covered a trail of about 5 km and then after a quick visit to our hotel we had our dinner. But the real fun was yet to begin. We played cards through the night, many of them for the first time, sang songs, made funny weird lame jokes on each other, got to know each other and most important got that rare chance to evolve as a person and introspect.

The next day, The Pine Forest stole our attention with its enormous trees and ever-awing scenery. The cold damp soil, the straight trees, the fresh air and that happy bunch of people gave a perfect start to our second day there. We roamed about in the forest, thinking of nothing but peace with nothing but smiles on our face. Moir point, Pillar rocks gave us the feel of a zero visibility zone and we were surrounded by mist totally. But the highlights were yet to come. After a short rest at the hotel, we went to the Ice Skating Café! Initially, we were a bit hesitant on not going to it for the obvious reason that none of us knew how to skate: we finally did go and that, dear readers: proved to be an added gift on the package. We tripped, fell, bounced, skidded and skated to our hearts content. Our joints did pain but it was the joy which was bigger than every pain that reflect on our faces. We again had dinner at the Punjabi Dhaba and came to the hotel. We decided on not going to sleep that night and started playing cards and then Chinese Whisper. We were soon trying to control ourselves from laughter to the lame jokes made while playing Statue when the lady professor accompanying us was at the door. Shameless and engrossed in the game as we were: we continued to play. Only after a minute or two did we think of dispersing. We went off to a deep slumber and it was a hard ordeal trying to wake up at 5 the next day.

The final day had arrived and happy and contented as we were, a slight sadness started to grip us. We visited the silver falls, had nutrela-breads for breakfast and reached the Kodai Cheese Factory. We got a firsthand experience of how cheese is processed, how ‘paneer’ is different from cheese and got to taste many varieties of cheese. After an awesome lunch, we headed towards our college. But wait: the movie is not yet over. We started playing DumbC and the first movie given was Grandmasti to ‘Silent_Laughter’. Apparently, it seemed to be his first ever hand at this game and he started to enact the scenes which made us laugh and grin the broadest grins. We had some awesome moments at the game with everyone cracking their minds on how to beat the others. But the ribbon was yet left to be done on the goodness package. Our male friends started dancing to Hindi dance numbers with the most epic expressions and it was then we finally bade adieu to this goodness package.

Every moment is worth cherishing, every action worth replaying again and again:
From epic trolss by “Horror” for “Monkey” to Grandmasti Dances by Silent_Laughter;
From the cold chilly weather to the warm sun;
From the Bluff’s to the Statues;
From the Punjabi Dhaba to the Nutrela-Breads;
From “ek pic toh banti hai” to “yaar, ab aise photo khichte hai”;
From Dancing to “didi tera…” to “batameez dil”;
From Ice Skating to Tripling in Boating;
From Photo-Bombing to running downhill;
From DumbC to Chinese Whisper;
From Chocolates to Cheese;
And from Strangers to Friends…”

The list is endless and the memories hard to forget. It’s seldom that the social animal gets a chance to loosen himself so why not grab the rare chances and dance to the your hearts tunes! Spend time with yourself, rediscover yourself and find those glitches in your life and fix them. We shall traverse afar, run along, swiftly pass by; but these moments, that smile, this new found bond and everything that came in this package will be remembered along after and bring a grin on our faces! The Secret Book.

I swell with every fact that I digest, I cry with every sorrow that I help divide, I beam with every joy that I get to share, I hope with determination that every promise will be fulfilled, I evolve with every word that is written on me. I count the days of the year over and over again and I do not get tired of it. I have been on this earth since long and have been the source of most information that you human’s today have. Like the flowing river, my pages flow with ink, with feelings, with untold miseries, with secret joys and I am the most patient listener.

I first met my mistress on the eve of 31st December, 2011. I perceived her to be a sea of emotions who was in love with me from the first time she saw me. She flipped through my pages, wrote her name on my first page, wrote the birthdays of all the humans she loved on the last page. She read all my sayings on every page of mine as though savouring and reflecting and realising each one of them. That night she kept me at her bed-side and was the first one to wish me, “Happy New Year!” She picked me up a lot of times, snuggled me close to her heart, hugged me and observed me thoroughly. She scrutinized my wooden oak cover, the symbolism of time with the various letters of the alphabet and saw to it that each time I was very carefully placed back into my cover. She seemed to appreciate me as a confidante, a friend who will never judge her, a soul-seeker, a medium of escape, an Elixir of Life, an abstract person who will never judge her but will listen to her patiently. She called me “Diary” and thus I started my life span at her delicate yet strong human hands.

The New Year passed and she wrote on me narrating her day. She also recollecting her previous year and I could see a thin film form in her eyes blurring her vision. I wonder as to what might have caused my dear mistress such distress! But I think she was shy for she did not tell me anything that day about her except that she wished the upcoming year to go better than the last one: thus ended the first day of my life. I was fresh then, excited, dainty and had a musty smell hanging around me. Slowly and gradually, my mistress opened up and started to tell me bit by bit about her. I would always be at her bed-side waiting for night to come when she would pick me up and pour her feelings, her anguish, her innermost fears and sadness onto me and form a secrecy bond with me. My mistress was an ardent believer of believing in the good of her race. She always used to tell me that good shall be done and that one day all things shall fall into place. And so, she continued to tell me everything.

It's not about the words written there, it's about the feelings poured and scribbled into it:
Raw and Bare!!!

She marked some days as important. She was to go to college that year and she told me all about it. She vividly told me of her first day in college and told me about disliking the fact that there were no uniforms. I found her to be the most exquisite women in the world who matured as the time went by. She became busy and couldn’t attend to me every day but I was content with it. I knew her better than anyone else. To me she was raw, bare and without the fear of hiding anything or the doubt of being ridiculed. At times, she cried onto me. I soaked in her tears, provided her solace by providing her my pages on which she wrote incessantly, became her mother by making her read my quotes again. She used to thank me a lot for listening to her and said she was grateful to me. I felt thankful that I was something to someone in this world. Maybe I am just 380 pages with a cover for the whole world but for my mistress I am a candle in the dark, a spark of hope in the midst of despair.

The days went by and soon it was December. I was at the winter of my life span and was soon going to be short of pages for my mistress. I looked onto her and was happy and sad at the same time. I felt happy to see her become stronger and matured day by day and I felt sad at the mere thought that my journey with her was going to end. Nevertheless, we made the best of the few days left. She rarely left me: always reading what she had written earlier. She again observed my wooden cover which was not so intact then, flipped my pages which were not so crisp then and on the eve of January 2013, said a silent bye. But she returned back to me once in a while, finding relief in me as Man returns unto dust. Today, as I convey to you this story of my life, I am glad and fortunate to have born as a diary for it helped me to know human beings as no other form shall know.

Incredible India!!!

We live in a nation where:

Talking about Sex is a taboo but watching porn is cool,

Love is forbidden but love based films and books are a hit

Poverty is sympathized with but loves to showcase India in that frame to the outside world

Education for the masses is the motto but terms and conditions eliminate the maximum

Marriage is always on the cards but the consent doesn’t matter

Love happens now and then but is confused with infatuation and feelings hurt on the go

Celebrity whereabouts is a much sought after topic than the crunching situation of Indian politics

Hospitalized film-star news get more TRP’s then thousands of jawans dying on the border, untold and unlisted.

Have the highest cutoffs in colleges but the lowest output of distinguished personalities with any significant mark in society

Cricket is the God of sport but football and tennis are senseless games

Culture is done away with in the households but boasted off in front of foreign individuals

Indian history is a boring topic but ‘The Making of Blah.. blah.. Blah Film is a hot and interesting one.

Least controversy is on building a temple, mosque, church or a gurudwara but building a school or hospital needs several permits

Trees are planted only to exceeded by the number of industries planted near it

Talks are on everywhere but action nil almost anywhere

Spirit of campaigning is not limited to just election times but takes a lead in times of aid

Anti-terrorist committees are doing something only to see helplessly explosions in religious places like Bodhgaya

All these go on and many more... In this mystic Incredible India!!!

Old is Gold.

“Once upon a time”… countless of us have fallen asleep to this evergreen lullaby by our grandpas and grandmas. Perhaps the most colourful days of our childhood have been spent at our grandparents’ house. They have been our medium of escape at times of mischief, our source of recreation day in and day out, have fulfilled our whims and wishes at the blink of an eye and in their own way have imparted important lessons to us. Gazing at them, we are immediately filled with a feeling of security, support and get an essence of purity, peace, perseverance and tranquility.

Grandparents have a very distinguished personality. Those grey hairs create a complete different space for them in our heart. As children, talking to them has always been a sweet experience. They have listened to our pointless rambling more than we could have tolerated if we were their age. Their stories of fantasies and about their lives have always earned our interest and attention.

But what about their children? In this ever increasing busy world where multitasking is the norm, do their very offspring except a few have time to notice their parents aging? The very father who had nourished them, provided them with the best facilities within his means, sacrificed his wishes to see his child smile, compromised with his much-needed sleep to make sure that his child is sleeping safely and soundly is thought of as a mere outcast object without any value in many households.

The mother who had conceived that child and had been the very reason of his seeing light in this world, the one who has been the pivot of the family, the one who has treated her children as no other human being would have treated is thought of a nagging old lady without any sense. These parents are taken granted for. They are thought of as a burden, the sooner relieved, they presume the better they shall be able to live. In their big penthouses and apartments, their parents do not get space to live while in their childhood they had themselves lived in small houses. The wife and mother-in-law get onto the wrong books of each other and the son under the burden of his wife has to do away with his mother. They forget that at the end of their life, those petty insults, those faults made, mistakes made won’t be taken into count. The wife is too stubborn to let go of her ego, her fake prestige, her self-centred nature and this leads to the final rift in the ever increasing detachment.

Feeling worthless, insignificant, like a yoke they resolve to live in the old age homes. They try to smile through their painful hearts while living there. More often than not, they die there unnoticed and are not even visited by their children as promised. The old age homes are like a final hope to their suffocating life, they spend their time doing all that they can do to make themselves forget of the immense pain they all are undergoing. Various NGOs have come forward to help them, providing them with an extra piece of cake. They cannot replace their children but they can make them feel special for a little while. Talking with them they can unburden them of the huge truck load of things they might have to say. Though the process is slow and very limited, a little help can always work wonders for “We might not be able to change the world, but we can create a difference.”

The Coloured People.

"I have a dream that one day little black boys and girls will be holding hands with little white boys and girls." Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream seems a very realistic and well within the means dream. It seems this is a bygone dream, a dream which has taken centuries to realise but has been completely realised now. It seems that apartheid is finally extinct. Really a time to cheer, a time to rejoice that humanity's one of the most dangerous evils has been finally got away with. But is the disease really extinct? Has it's germs really vanished from the veins of the human blood? Do we really see beyond the colour always?

Aibileen, a 50 year old black maid who has been continuously raising children when are own children are out there without care doesn't have the privilege to mourn her son's death. She has to take care of all the domestic help, the proper upbringing of her mistress' child and save her job at all cost. Minny on the other hand is an outspoken maid who gets fired often for her firm and straight-forward nature. But outspoken or introvert, they continue to work meticulously without giving much of a thought to the upliftment of their own lives. They have separate toilets, which have to be used at all costs; even if they need to face nature's fury for that. They have to leave as and when desired, emotional attachments do not have a place in their dictionary nor in their employer's recruitment criteria. The white people expose their delicate offspring's from their very infancy to these black maids but at the same time do not step back in commenting that 'the black have different diseases from the white.' If anyone comes forward to help them and bring them out from distress, those farsighted white people are also subjected to social outcast and  looked upon with disgrace.

Raise your Voice And Take a Stance,
Collaborate your Intellects In order to Enhance,
Systematically Changing Minds that are trapped in a Trance.

Racism is a very commonly uncommon disease. The disease dates its origin back to the times when man started dispersing in various countries. It dates back to the times when people started conquering and having slaves. By divine grace or disgrace, the coloured people became subjected to being pawns at the hands of their masters and their life depended on their master's whims and wishes.They began having different cities exclusively for the black people and they had to live in the filthiest of conditions. Slave trade became a robust market. Except for a very few exceptions, the majority of slaves were subjected to all kinds of torture in return of their sacrifice. While in a bus, they had to stand and leave the seat for the white, even if they might be old. Rosa Parks refusal to give up her seat when the white section of the bus was filled and she was asked to give up her seat in the coloured section is taken as the revolutionary step for removing this discrimination. Others have taken similar steps and have contributed in their own way. Over the years, there have been laws and acts passed, mentalities of people persuaded to change and coloured people restored to their former glory. 1994 saw a formal ending of racism with South Africa becoming the last nation to ban it and gaining freedom.

But sadly the devil finds a way out of the pit. Informal endings of evil proceedings take long to extinguish because they go uncounted, unnoticed by lawsuits and legal proceedings. Dowry and female infanticide would have been long ago done away with if the laws and acts had being strictly followed. As they say,"Bad habits die hard.", even today people do discriminate on the basis of colour. They don't do it consciously rather subconsciously. "Her face is plain, if only she had been fairer; she would have been beautiful.""She is so black. She seems dirty." Such comments are not uncommon in a school. It stinges to the core to listen to those remarks because you can actually do nothing about it except to digest it. The coloured people have a long way to go before Martin Luther King's dream is actually realised, before Aibileen's son gets justice, before Rose Parks actually wins her battle, before every child growing up in the hands of these black maids actually see beyond the colour and judge to be friends on the basis of whether they have the basic human classification --- a nose, two eyes, a sane mind, a mouth, etc. Beyond all colours, there lies a unicolour of humanity where all live in harmony in peace. In this world, where the thrust for power is more than ever, to save the world the unity of human beings is needed. Discrimination on the basis of colour shall do nothing except create complexities and indulge people to fight over petty issues. The black and white alike are strong enough, competent enough and they should hold hands in hand and work for the betterment of the society and actually abolish racism from its very roots.

As said by Maria Christina Mena,
 "The piano keys are black and white;
But they sound like a million colours in your mind."

The Paradox of Humanity!

Sitting last night, watching “The Attacks of 26/11” sent a cold shiver through my spine. It is not about how ruthless, cruel, distinctively inhuman Terrorism can be, it is about how such a brutal act could muster the courage to get executed by the most advanced race of this world. The world is progressing at a fast rate, the latest technology is at our hand’s reach and people are getting busier day by day. We all grumble over this tedious fact. We lament over the fact that we are losing touch with our emotions, our feelings, we are losing touch with humanity but have we ever given a thought to the prize we get for being humane? Have we ever given a thought to the reward we get for trusting, for being friendly, for believing that goodness exists?

They say, “Good shall be bestowed”. Who had anticipated that a seemingly innocent water boat comprising ten individuals full of youth would cause such havoc? The morning of 26th November, 2008 was slightly chilly yet sunny. An ill-fated fisherman’s boat met a Pakistani boat who made them captives and treacherously reached the coast of Mumbai. They split in groups of two and started their Mission of Killing as many living things they could. Starting with Leopard Café to an ordinary auto, they left none. The Chattrapati Shivaji Terminus turned into a slippery pool of human blood. The Taj, which is no less than a prestige of India, was not left behind. Nariman Point, Oberoi all turned into a place of blood and lifeless bodies. Children, women, men, police personnel, foreigners and Indians alike were shot at point blank. But as they say, nothing remains imbalanced for long. As the news of this horrid mutilation spread throughout Mumbai, a doctor of Cama Hospital, one of the affected places accidentally happened to see those wretched souls. He alerted all, saved numerous lives but had to give up his life.

It's not merely a date, but a remembrance of disgrace to mankind.
"How do you defeat terrorism? don't be terrorized."
Terrorism is not a recent sprout which is spreading it's roots far and wide at such an alarming rate. It had been mingled with the human race since time immemorial. Destroying lives and property, it marches on to create a terror, a horror in the minds of the human being so strong, so profound that it makes a niche in the consciousness of man as long as he lives. He tends to distrust people, tends to be filled with pessimism, looks upon all with suspicious eyes, becomes skeptical and turns into a sadist. He becomes self-centred and does not devote time for human goodwill. We turn him down for these bad qualities, shun him but we forget that root reason why he became so. We forget the situations he had gone through for having changed his ideologies, his perception of life.

Who is at fault? The pawns that are no older than twenty years in age or the protagonists of a wrong notion of proclaiming Jihad in the name of Allah? Forgetting their origins that they originally belonged to The Great India, they indulge themselves in petty warfare for selfish needs and desires to get fulfilled. Even after 65 years of independence and two bloody wars and numerous bomb-blasting, explosions; Pakistan has it's eyes set on Kashmir, wants to become the sole power of nuclear power and to achieve this does not hesitate in reddening It's hands with innocent human blood. Terrorism has no positive virtues except bringing down the population. But at what cost? Is negotiation, reaching a conclusion through spoken words and discussion, is letting go of petty issues such as land and concentrating on the larger good for humanity such a difficult task? Fighting in the name of religion, turning young people into devout gun-lovers; terrorism has brought an air enclosing fear, anticipation for what shall happen next.

But there is time indeed left. Time which is ticking away slowly towards devastation. We cannot change the world but we can create a difference. We can stand against this inhuman torture and become rationalized in our thoughts, our actions--- the work is half done. Trust and honour shall be restored, faith in humanity, in God shall be preserved and upheld and mankind shall live in harmony.

Everything has two ways to be done. The harder way to grumble about terrorism and become pessimists or this way:
"Everyone's worried about stopping terrorism.Well, there's an really easy way: Stop participating in it."

Ode to Friendship.

Laying down one day under a moon-lit sky
With myriad stars twinkling by...
I inhaled and closed my eyes for a silent prayer...
And opened my eyes to see you fair,
Swaying with the smile of an angel, a human being gentle and distilled.
The initial days of screening the other's comfort zone,
Discovering the other's not-so-good habits,
The first late night chat till four,
The start of watching movies all day-long;
Life started with inserting a new roll in its Digi-cam!
Hugging you became my sole solace,
Working the weird slightly self-relating errand for you became a joy.
Discovered a New colour of yours by Looking into your eyes,
Felt the pang of your Hidden sufferings in it...
As time passed by, saw the incredibility of your charisma,
Learnt to decipher your subtle moods and swings...
Days passed by, we got to know each other well,
Our confiding in each other, silent 'fights' with each other...

And sooner or later, the fours years will pass,
Lots of hopes, aspiration, grudges, unspoken feelings
Might be left unuttered and unmediated.

Throughout the very busy life,
You will live your dream!
But I sign off with a note that

"As long as the world spins by,
What if you suffer from amnesia;
Your hand will always by clasped within mine,
Your feelings taken care of in my Heart."

Yo!!! Ladies!!!!!

Friends--- an integral part of our lives, governing our lives and actions are worth a treasure. My father truly said, "A person without friend is like a ship without sail." There are many we come across in our daily lives... but the very few whose footprints get embedded in our heart are the ones we define as friends. A friend can be in any form, it needn't be you share everything with her, it needn't be you be with her, but she definitely should be such as to amaze you, such as to capture your pupils. I can quiet proudly say that I have the most awesome ladies of this world as my Amigo  !!!

This particular Ami::: A Mädchen with whom I share a special bond. A bond best understood by us. We are not acknowledged as good friends by our social circle. We don't hang around often but we are friends. When the heart is heavy and emotions filled to the brim, there's this girl I always look up to  This girl who provides me solace, gives me ears like nobody else. This girl before whom I can become an open book. A book with no boundaries, no subtitles, no explanations as to the flow of the story of my life and never-ending but abruptly stopping. Always full of life, she leaves no stone-unturned to make someone happy. smile is her biggest asset through which she can captivate anyone and mesmerize all. Don't assume her to be my best friend. She is "A Good Friend"!!! JJJ

She has been my pillar throughout my very life. She was there as my first friend in this world and she has maintained her position with slight competition from others well. No offence!!! But nevertheless, she does not cease to provide me the the subtle moments of happiness which I crave for! "Besides, my mother; you are the only one who knows my flaws best!" --- is enough to cause a stir in anyone's heart and make her heart swell with pride!!! Throughout the very busy year, its seldom that you are made to feel special... given the downhill graph of your social circle. Just want to tell you, "I will be with you till the Episode comes when Tom finally Eats Jerry, when a mango grows out of an Apple tree, Till the 30th of February." Do smile, its priceless for a forlorn soul as me.JJJ

Laugh out Gags! Is what we do when we are together. Planning murderous plans to having a date with the Cellular phone, we never fail to amaze our social halo including us! Withstanding the initial tumbling downhill of our sweet bondhutto we have turned out to have a Heart-to-Heart connection. She with her ever cherry, evergreen face never fails to stretch my 17 muscles into a curve. She chides me when I am wrong, encourages me when I am stressed, listens to my blabbering incessantly. In life, I believe a person needs to network himself through every possible angle to be humanely human. I regret not being much more open to her...But I heard somewhere down the memory lane "Friends are not alone for confessing secrets, they are for providing us an escape from this delusionary transitory world into the real world." JJ

A seemingly innocent one-time coincidence has proved to be an all time still innocent deep friendship. A pure face with a lovely smile, she is my elder sister, A type of sister whom I have always craved for. Her eternal support protects me from the many devils of this world. She is full of energy, laughing and giggling at the silliest things, becoming terrified at the mere scratch on me and strive with all her heart and soul to heal my superficial wound. Amazing she is and undoubtedly a Lady in the true sense. Embracing all with open arms, she aims to Make everyone happy. And for this Gracious Lady I pray with all my Humble heart that Wherever she goes, May she find the Best of things... May her MG be with her always. J\J

Just wondering at the number of wounded souls who were once fresh blooming flowers and I seriously marvel at the capacity of this social animal when put to stress, the capacity with which It withstands every storm and hopes for it to subside to absorb the sunshine. The eyes which give away nothing and withhold numerous sorrows, regrets and untold wishes from the beholder just in fear of rejected again. That smile which brings a smile on the beholder but kills the originator every second of the smiile. I salute her who in spite of undergoing piercing hardships and tortures in her life, strives every second to make her life count, to make others happy, to bring a smile on every sad face. It's my wish that someday, I will bring a smile on her face which would be not a fake one but a genuine one--- Straight from her Heart!!! JJJ

This is a very small tribute to those people who make my Life worthwhile. Like the Conjurer's tricks in which he didn't hide the stuff up in his sleeves, God in the midst of his very busy schedule of making Humane Homo sapiens did take a bit of a while to carry out this Magic of making the most awesome, gorgeous, pure, innocent, funky and lovely ladies of this world.

Thank you for being there with me always...!!! J\J\J

Dented and Painted Women!!!

Woman---a five-letter word which brings different imagery's to the mind. On one hand, the soothing halo, a woman forms is unparalleled to any other thing in this world; on the other hand, the sexual mental and physical exploit is also not far behind. They say, the hand that rocks the cradle, rules the world. But, given the present conditions --- it proves to be nothing less than an irony. On one side, celebrations are on at the progress of the X-chromosome; while the other side of the coin laments at the fragility of her precious lifetime dignity.

Although being the president's son, Mr. Abhijit Mukherjee --- did not think twice before contaminating the Freedom of Speech --- the very basis of democracy and its limits. The women participating in the huge protests in the National Capital at the wake of the horrifying December 16th mishap, were termed by him as being highly dented and painted. The origin to this phrase is traced to the Bengali satire of speaking of the people who live on the surface without getting into the ground realities of things. He referred to them as being highly popularity-gaining and said that sparing some minutes of the day in a protest and then going to discotheques does not complement each other. He was of the opinion that women are primarily responsible for the various mishaps happening with them. Although he had to apologize, he left a question in mind- Are Indian women so subtle, so fickle-minded, so distant to the ground realities, which engulf them in every second of their conscience?

An average Indian women, working or a home-maker, a prostitute or a maid-servant has to undergo various tests, various obstacles to do anything she desires for. Not-withstanding the disapproving stares of the society which loves to bind women with its age-old meaningless rituals, the very step a woman takes which is outside the circle is annulled with a severe blow. The society is of the opinion that women should be within the four-walls of the house, covered from head to toe, doing nothing other than household chores. But the modern women, is beyond it. they are adept in multitasking, their costume does not decipher their character but is a mask of their true nature. Neither does it mean that she lacks ideologies and is immoral. There have been many instances when these women have proved to be the most brave, the kindest and the most matured citizens of India. Protesting for a grave cause, day in and day out doesn't hallmark the person as being highly sincere to the cause, but protesting for a limited time and making their mark in the protest is of a higher degree. The perfect way to protest is to perform one's duties without lack of commitment and sincerity while making their bit in the betterment of the society. The choice to live one's life is purely an individual's choice. It should not be tampered with. A woman, in any form is a woman; neither a mother, nor a wife, nor a maid-servant and not even a prostitute.

The Indian society should work on the betterment of itself and getting itself freed from these dark caves of such kind of negative alluring thoughts and actions. The most important task ahead is the proper education of the masses. A woman is a blessing in disguise, the sooner acknowledged, the better. For we all know, "Being a woman is a terribly difficult task, since it involves primarily dealing with men."
